Senior E&P Accounting Consultant

  • Hourly contract position: $110-165/hr
Project Essential Functions:

The tasks, duties, and responsibilities of the contract position that are most important to get the job done.

  • Interface with and advise VI clients and staff on O&G accounting workflows, electronic invoicing/ticketing, reporting and all other accounting related disciplines.
  • Partner with clients to clearly understand their infrastructure, performance, and business needs as it relates to accounting, solve high level problems as needed, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Partner with other VI consultants to build attractive and easy-to-use Business Intelligence (BI) tools as it relates to client’s accounting needs.
  • Work with various VI consultants to construct and market accounting templates.
  • Partner with VI’s Founder and Managing Partner to identify and pursue new business opportunities and client prospects to expand the company’s reach and profitability.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Leverage current network to explore potential business opportunities with VI’s services.
  • Perform all other duties and ad hoc projects as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

The specific minimum competencies required for successful project completion.

  • Well-rounded O&G E&P accounting experience with functional knowledge and hands-on experience in accounting budgeting, analysis, financial and management reports, JIB accounting and revenue accounting
  • Strong hands-on operational accounting experience in at least two different ERPs.
  • Experience with SEC financial reporting
  • Demonstrated interest in data analytics.
  • Advanced skillset in excel.
  • Some experience with Power BI/Spotfire/Tableau preferred.
  • Proven track record in accounting leadership, mentoring, and team enthusiasm
  • Consultant mindset, strong communicator, and listener
  • Intellectually curious
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to analyze, evaluate an issue and form judgment.
Ideal Candidate:

The minimum level of education, experience, and certifications to complete the project.

  • Minimum of 15 years of accounting, finance, or related experience required.
  • Minimum of 10 years in-house E&P accounting experience with exposure to both operational and financial accounting workflows required.
  • ERP and accounting software experience on multiple of BOLO, Excalibur, Enertia., Integra, OGsys, Quorum, W Energy, WolfePak, and other O&G-focused ERPs
  • Interest in business development.
  • Consulting experience preferred.
